In early 2008 we began our quest to lighten our own impact on the environment. The first choices seemed easy enough and we switched to 100% online billing. This was a good start, but not the example we had hoped to set... So we upgraded all PRO-Webs workstation PCs to energy efficient or Green systems.

Next we replaced all of the light bulbs with energy saving and more cost efficient bulbs... From customer ExpressLightBulbs.com and their Green Guru team of experts! That accomplished we moved on to more peripheral equipment... Like the huge PC monitors we use! We replaced those old CRT energy gobbling monitors with substantially more energy efficient LCDs. More and more as we began to make these adjustments in our business, we began to see and understand their impact.... Moving to the next level was an easy choice!

Green Wind Powered Web Hosting!

What an excellent idea! Since web hosting and the IT sector has such a gigantic impact on the environment and is our place of business.... We moved some focus to our hosting. After some changes and upgrades we are very happy to say that every single PRO-Web's server is GREEN! We are using great web servers which use renewable energy to both power and cool, whereas a number of proclaimed green web hosts only offset the electricity used to power their servers. That really is a huge difference, because web servers generate a great deal of heat! For every single watt of electricity that a web server uses, it requires 1 to 2 watts of electricity to cool it. Our dedicated hosting is investing in about twice as much renewable energy credits, on a per server basis, but most green hosts are only using renewable energy to power their servers... Our servers are %130 Wind Powered!
