Anonymous FTP, just like noted by the name, enables anyone to download files from a properly configured FTP server.  This FTP Protocol allows users without accounts to access files by entering the username anonymous, gererally along with their email address as a password.  Because anyone can access files that have been set up for anonymous FTP, Webmasters must be careful to use it only for files specifically meant for public access.
