DOM - Document Object Model

DOM is an acronym for Document Object Model, which is a specification for how objects and elements within web document (text, headers, links, etc..) are visually represented. DHTML for example, relies on the DOM to dynamically change the appearance of web pages after they have been downloaded to a visitor's browser.
