A domain name is a unique name/address that identifies an specific Internet site. Domain names are attached to a server IP with DNS. The DNS (Domain Naming System) is used to translate or associate the domain name into an IP address. Each and every website on the internet has an IP address behind the domain name you see, this is like their phone number.
