A keyword is a word or phrase use to categorize pages and queries on the Internet. Keyword searching with a search engine is the most common form of textual search on the Internet. Most search engines do their text query and retrieval using a keyword based algorithm. This does not mean your Meta keyword tag necessarily, as most search engines today use full text search and entire pages to develop the relevancy between pages and search queries.
