A Log File is a file generated by a web or proxy server which logs and contains all access information regarding the activity on the server. Each individual line in a log file created by a web server software is a hit, which is simply a request for a file. The number of lines in a log file will be equal to the total number of hits for the file, not considering any field definitions line(s) that may be present for user interpretation.
