Meta Tag

A Meta Tag is a special HTML tag which specifically provides information to Internet spiders or crawlers about a web page. Unlike normal HTML markup tags, meta tags have no affect on how the page is displayed and are not visible in regular user views. Instead, they are contained in the <head> container of pages for only crawlers and browsers to read.
