PDF is short for Portable Document Format. PDF is a file format developed by Adobe Systems for the display and printing of standardized format documents across many different platforms and operating systems. PDF files can be secured and set to read on any system with the Acrobat Reader software installed, regardless of whether or not your computer has the Adobe software installed which the document was originally created in.
