On Monday, Feb. 7th Google announced that you can now link your Google Webmaster Tools verified site(s) to a Google Analytics profile when they use the same Google Account. This task is a simple one that integrates the data between Analytics and GWT, making your Analytics profiles available in GWT and sharing some reports and abilities between the 2. Just another means to manage your data more effectively and keep things neat and tidy.
How to Link Google Webmaster Tools to Analytics
Once logged in to Google Webmaster Tools you will select the “Manage” dropdown for one of your accounts. In the dropdown you will see “Google Analytics Profile”. Select this.
On the resulting “Google Analytics” page simply check the radio button for the correct profile (watch the www and non) and save.
If you have many accounts, like we do, then this page, with all of the accounts and a simple link next to each to connect them more quickly and easily and view a collective of their verification statuses.
While in the article Google alludes to being able to use this feature for multiple owners, it does not appear to be working just yet.
Note: If your site has multiple owners, each owner will need to link their own account to a Google Analytics profile.
This is a nice and fast way to get more data, more tools and less time needed to use them. Google seems to be very sensitive to our needs and lack of time for these matters.
